As we wrap up #ConstructionsSafetyWeek I want to talk about something that is so important but not talked about enough...

Knowing the signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses caused by dehydration is important.
But
Awareness is not the finish line…

A monitor can tell you something is wrong.
A poster can remind people to take breaks and deplete themselves further by drinking water
But
When heat stress problems shows up, what is the actual plan?

- Pull the worker and hope they recover? - Lose manpower and productivity?
- Send them out for medical treatment every time? -Necessary when it is truly needed, but expensive and disruptive when there is no other onsite strategy.

- Tell them to drink more water? -Water does not replace what the heat depletes

**This is the gap we care about.

I messed up in this clip…
