Wednesday morning, I was at a convention in Atlanta when Alex texted that she was in labor. By that afternoon, I was headed home.
My business didn’t suddenly stop needing me. I had to trust God with the work I was putting down so I could be fully present for my daughter and son-in-law.
We both got a lesson in the difference between saying we trust God and actually letting go of what we think we can control.
Years ago, becoming her mom changed everything I thought I wanted. Now I’m watching that same daughter trust God and fully surrender her plans for His with her own baby and family. Thank you Jesus 🙏🏼🥹

I’m still learning to leave things in God’s hands without reaching back to manage them. But I’m so grateful I didn’t miss this. I am grateful beyond measure for God to giving our family the greatest gift that we can get here on earth.

In 1997, I was newly married, working in radio, making money, and chasing big dreams. Becoming a mom was NOT in my plans.
Then came a very unexpected positive pregnancy test.
What I thought would ruin my plans became one of the best things that ever happened to me. 🫶🏻 alex_h3rrera21
I chose my hard.
Walking away from “my plan” to stay home with our kids and trusting God with our finances was hard.
BUT
I knew I could build a career later. I couldn’t get back the baby years, school pickups, practices, games, or everyday unforgettable moments with my kids.
Now my first baby is about to have her own. ❤️
And I’m figuring out a new balance: business owner and grandma.
The next two weeks are packed with presentations, meetings, and flights. But when my daughter calls, the calendar changes. I’m not missing the birth of our first grandchild.
God has been faithful through the sacrifices. I’m trusting Him with this next chapter, too.
